Labor Day Weekend

Dear Friends of Peace,

The Peaceful News is attached for your enjoyment!   Don't forget to click below.

This Sunday's service will focus on the Challenge of Authentic Christianity from Romans 12:9-21.  The sermon will be given in tandem by Pastor Elizabeth and Rev. Dr. Richard Deibert.

Our Open House Brunch is at 9:45 on September 7 -- not this Sunday but next.  Learn about activities for children and youth.  Hear about adult classes and small groups.   Worship at 8:30 or11:00.   A brief congregational meeting to elect an elder nominating committee will take place at 9:35.

Peace to you,

Elizabeth

Metamorphosis

Metamorphosis -- that's the subject for Sunday worship from Romans 12:1-8 -- being transformed by the renewing of your minds that you may discern what is the will of God.  Don't forget the Psalms discussion at 9:45 -- these prayers can change your life!   Changing our lives -- that's what the Spirit of God aims to do to make us more and more into the likeness of Jesus Christ.

Remember that September 7 is our Welcome Back Brunch and Open House.   It's a great opportunity to hear from the Children, Youth, and Families and Adult Education Teams about all they have planned for the fall!   In addition, we invite those who are leading small and special interest groups to set up tables to chat with folks over coffee about opportunities for involvement.

We will have a brief Congregational Meeting at 9:30 in the chapel on September 7 to elect persons to serve on the elder nominating committee.  They will have the important job of discerning the will of God in providing a slate of four nominees for elder, class of 2017, and possibly one youth elder for election by the congregation.

Pastor Neil is looking for some loaner kayaks for a coming youth outing.

Read the attached bulletin for more info on life at Peace.

With love and prayers,

Pastor Elizabeth
