We get a little taste of resurrection before Easter. Jesus raises Lazarus from the dead! This is our third fascinating text from the
Gospel of John. You see better than ever
in this story the dual nature of Christ.
He knows Lazarus is dead. He’s
not worried about it. Yet he is greatly
disturbed and starts weeping with the others.
He calls the four-days-dead Lazarus out of the tomb! Jesus is the resurrection and the life! And he will raise us up on the last day too!
When you arrive at Peace, notice the new aluminum celtic
cross on the rooftop. We are no longer
to be confused with the Motel 6! Thanks
to the generous donor and to Rod Scott for installation.
Both our seminarians are here this Sunday -- Kim Adams and
Marilyn Tucker. See them. Pray for them. Kim is soon starting clinical pastor
education in a hospital, and Marilyn graduates in May.
Things to remember – pick up your Invitation Plants from the
Outreach Team. Most unchurched or
dechurched people will try church if asked by a friend. Be that friend!
Holy Week Schedule
Palm Sunday at Peace will conclude with simple lunch, egg
hunt, tethered balloon rides (weather permitting), and a fishing contest.
Maundy/Holy Thursday at 7:00 – Still need two hosts for
simple supper at tables. “Maundy” is
the word for command. The command from
Jesus is to love one another. Service
will end with a silent stripping of the chapel.
Good Friday at 7:00 – Dramatic readings and music. Service will end at the outdoor wooden
cross.Easter Sunday – Worship at 8:00, 9:30, and 11:00.
Hallelujah!
Grace, peace, and love,
Elizabeth
