This Week at Peace - - August 22 -- Godspell!

Come hear “God’s Spell on the World” in the Beatitudes from Matthew 5:1-12 at 9:30 and stay to cheer on the Players of Peace as they bring us their version of Godspell, the musical, at 11:15. There will be plenty of room for both laughter and tears. Friends welcome!

Here’s the 12th century prayer attributed to Saint Richard, Bishop of Chichester, words translated from Latin, which inspired the the pop chart hit of 1972, Day by Day

“Thanks be to Thee, Lord Jesus Christ, for all the benefits which Thou hast won for us, for all the pains and insults which Thou hast borne for us. O most merciful Redeemer, Friend, and Brother, may we know Thee more clearly, love Thee more dearly, follow Thee more nearly, day by day.”

Peace to all who are poor in spirit, mourning, meek, hungry for right, merciful, pure in spirit, peacemaking, and persecuted for doing right for God.

With love,
Elizabeth
