Hope you are
coming with your friends and your checkbook to Peace’s Wonderful Italian Dinner
and Variety Show Saturday, the 27th at 5:00 at First Presbyterian on Oak Street
in Sarasota. Call my cell if you get
lost (779-4900) You do not want to miss all the delicious and authentic Italian
food that Gia and her crew are preparing, plus the treat of new acts in the
variety show!
Don’t forget
that we will have a silent auction and raffle and all donations for food and
prizes will support our youth as they go to Montreat to grow in Christian
faith. Special thanks to those who have
offered prizes like the Sheraton Sand Key Resort of Clearwater (Suzi’s sister)
and Rays/Red Sox tickets (Ed and Ellen Walch)
Our new
Men's Fellowship Group is having lunch on Sunday at 12:30. This group is primarily for guys who cannot
make the Tuesday morning prayer group.
Ten of us
are going to enjoy the Cotton Patch Gospel, a musical at Palm Sola Presbyterian
in Bradenton on Sunday afternoon, the 28th.
Meet at Peace at 2:00 if you’d like to come along.
Our
scripture for Sunday morning is the story of Peter sharing his vision of the
openness of the church from Acts 11.
Speaking of
openness, we hope to find someone willing to negotiate with us at C1 Bank in the
next day or two. Our Building Vision
leaders have made every effort to push forward. It will be great when C1 lives up to their
motto: Clients first. Community first.
Let me
recommend that a group of Peace friends take advantage of the free concert by
the Ariel Quartet (alumni of Perlmann string music program – ask Barbara Staton
how good they are) on Monday, May 6 at 7:00 at the Polo Grill Ballroom on Main
Street, Lakewood Ranch. More info on
table Sunday. I’d be there, if not
traveling home from daughter Catherine’s college graduation!
With love
and prayers,
Elizabeth
