Be Welcoming!

This Sunday at Peace we will read several different scriptures, all of which point to the value of being a welcoming congregation.   Some of you might be thinking that Peace already is warm and friendly, so why focus on that?   Because it takes every single one of us working together to be truly welcoming.   One unfriendly experience can spoil a guest’s first impression of our church and of Christ’s love.

Those who have agreed to play the particular role of greeter need to stay for the 11:30-12:00 presentation, but we hope most of you will.   You were welcomed warmly when you arrived at Peace, so be reminded about how to pay it forward.

New Members Orientation is this week and next at 11:30 for those interested in joining Peace.

Youth Group meets for some brainstorming and lunch at 11:30, and Kids Club will tag the shoes for orphans and enjoy lunch as well.   This is the last week to help Kids Club with new shoes for orphans in Central and South America.   You may write a check to Peace, with orphans in the memo.   Thanks for your generosity with this and with school supplies for Beth-El children of farmworkers.
During the announcements, we will have a brief congregational meeting to elect a nominating committee, who will guide us to the right slate of elders for the class of 2016.   Nominees for Nom Com are Jenny Sheffield (leader), Nancy Hughes, Mickey Miller, Bill Clough, and Kelsey Scott.
