School Supplies for Beth-EL

This Sunday’s parable from Luke 12:13-31 helps us to see the foolishness of fretting over money and the futility of accumulating too much stuff.  Come and be challenged with me to find contentment in a simpler life of trust.

Don’t forget that we are collecting school supplies for the next two weeks for the needy children at Beth-el Farmworker Ministry in Wimauma.  Imagine the relief you can provide to parents and the joy you can give a child.   Take some time this week – the list of needed items is below and will be in the bulletin again on Sunday.   Anything you can give is greatly appreciated.

I drove to the Aurora Ministries property the other day, and enjoyed some peaceful time watching the wildlife: two deer and a flock of white ibis.   The due diligence on the property is going well, thanks to the good work of the BVT.   We are still hopeful about a November closing.

Next Sunday, August 11, at noon, ALL of you are invited to a Pool Party and Potluck Lunch at the Sabal Harbour Clubhouse.  Drinks will be provided by our gracious host, Kris Pino.   Sabal Harbour is just north of Hwy 70, on 45th
St. East (Lockwood Ridge).

Next Sunday August 11, at 4:30 Pine Shores Presbyterian invites you to Burns Court, Sarasota, to view the documentary produced by Presbyterian Disaster Assistance:  “Trigger-The Ripple Effect of Gun Violence”  A panel discussion lead by community representatives will follow the movie.

Peace to you,

Elizabeth
