This Week at Peace -- May 5, 2012

Thank you, thank you, thank you for a wonderful week-end.   The Italian Dinner & Variety Show was deliciously delightful, and we raised over $2300 for the youth.   Right after school is out, nine youth and three chaperones will leave for one of six weeks of high school conferences in Montreat with 1000 other youth in attendance each week.   Our Middle schoolers will be going to their own Montreat at Presbyterian College in July.   We are grateful for your participation and support.

If you missed last Sunday’s Building Presentation or need to ask further questions, please attend this Sunday at 11:30.  There will also be a CD available for those who are out of town both weeks.   If you are interested in joining the church, please let me know asap.   We may need to wait until next week-end to have that meeting, as we already have three adult offerings this week.

Our worship service Sunday centers on John 15, “Being Connected and Fruitful.”   Hope to you will connect with us this Sunday.

Finally, we are glad to announce that we will have a seminary intern this summer -- Marilyn Tucker, a friend of the Deibert family.   She is a recent Honors graduate of the University of Alabama and naturally, a football fan of the Crimson Tide.   She has a lovely soprano voice and worked as a youth director at the First Presbyterian Church of Tuscaloosa during her college years.   Having completed her first year at Columbia Theological Seminary in Atlanta (where both your pastors attended), she will reside for ten weeks with the Deiberts and gain from the Peace congregation some valuable practical experience.    She starts in June.

Peace to all,

Elizabeth & Tricia
